Keep children who are having a hard time focusing next to you in order to
help avoid distractions.
Be consistent. Don't tell a child anything that you cannot execute. Kids are smart and will quickly disregard what you say if they know that you don't mean it.
Often by mistake we end up promoting and drawing attention to negative behavior, which creates more negative behavior. Instead we want to be intentional about pointing out kids who are doing the right thing.
