Crew

Crews are currently on summer break and will resume in September for our Fall session. Please check the website and app at the end of August.

We believe we are
better together.

We have all been called and created to do life together in biblical community. We are called to sharpen, rejoice with, encourage and share each others burdens together. This was God's plan for the church and also you as a Christ follower.

Biblical Community

Even during crew breaks there are still many opportunities to find biblical community.

Sunday Services

Although Sunday Service can be a little chaotic, make yourself friendly. Say hello to those sitting by you, in line for coffee behind you and at compass kids checkin next to you.

EVENTS

Events like True Women, North Men, Parenting & Marriage Express and 1829 are great ways to be equipped and meet others in a similar season of life.

Serving On Team

No matter where you serve on a Sunday are you helping make a way for people to meet Jesus for the first and to learn more about him. As you serve others you can build community with those serving alongside you. First step to join team is taking Growth Track.

CREW FAQ's

Why does True North have Crews?
One of our Core Values here at True North is We are Better Together! We believe this often plays out in and through our small groups, which we call Crews.

Crews provide an opportunity for adults to do four things:
•Develop, foster and be found in relationship
•Care for and receive care from those within Crew
•Grow in their walk with the lord through scripture and prayer
•Take next steps

Romans 12:15
James 5:16
How often do Crews meet and for how long?
Our Crews take a semester base approach and generally meet every other week. While most crews meet every other week, there are some that meet weekly, which include our ReFresh Crews.

Fall Semester: Early September to Mid-December (generally 8 meetings)
Spring Semester: Early February to Mid-June (generally 10 meetings)

The semester approach allows leaders and group members to take breaks and provides folks the opportunity to easily jump into a crew at the start or anytime and participate.
What curriculum do you use in Crews?
We use an open or free-market approach allowing leaders to determine the direction they want to take based on their passion, what they enjoy, and/or what God is putting on their heart. Each semester, approved leaders form Crews based on their gifts, interests and passions. While we have several recommended resources and curriculums our leaders can utilize, it is up to them.

Depending on the session and leaders, we have crews that do message reviews, marriage driven crews, active crews, bible studies, video series, book studies, topical and more. Crew Leaders bring a spiritual component (scripture, prayer, devotional, etc..) and commit to providing/fostering relationship, care and growth.

Can people jump into a Crew in the middle of the semester?
Yes! While it is ideal to jump in at the start of the semester, folks are welcome to join a crew at anytime. Some are easier to join than others depending on the curriculum that the leader is going through. Our hope to is to help folks find a Crew that is a good fit for them no matter what the time of year.
What are the requirements for leading a Crew?
To lead a Crew, one must first be in a Crew. All our Crew Leaders are required to go through an approval process, which begins by receiving an application from their current Crew Leader.

Upon completing the application, we follow-up with references and do an interview to help determine approval and/or next steps. During the interview, our team will discuss the minimum requirements to lead a crew.
What support is provided for Crew Leaders?
Upon being approved to lead a Crew, our leaders are given access to a Crew Leader Resource page. On this page, our leaders have access to tools and resources that will assist them in successfully leading a crew.

Crew Leaders are supported by our Crew Team, which includes operations, resources, ministry care and recruiting. Moreover, every Crew Leader has direct access to our Crew Team, Ministry Pastor and other staff through phone, email and a direct textline.
