God's Truths

Take a moment to read over these truths about God in the midst of your depression. Save these to go back and re-read throughout this track to remind yourself of what God says in this season.

God is with us in our depression.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.
IsaIah 41:10

God sees our pain and suffering.
“God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand”.
Psalm 10:14

God hears our cries and listens to us in our pain.
“ The Lord has heard my weeping”.
Psalm 6:8

God wants to lift us up when we’re feeling down.
“The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down”.
Psalm 145:14

God wants us to talk to Him when we’re depressed.
“Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge”.
Psalm 62:8

God wants to give us peace.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”.
John 14:27

God wants to give us hope.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”.

God wants us to trust Him.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me”.
Psalm 28:7

God wants us to comfort others who are depressed.
“The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort . . . comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God”.
2 Corinthians 1:3–4

God will one day wipe away all our tears—and there will be no more sorrow or suffering.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever”.
