Honor the Lord

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9-10
“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
Malachi 3:8-10
What you are about to hear may be difficult, even offensive to some. But rest assured that this idea comes from scriptural truth, and it is our desire that you would live in the fullness of what God's word declares. If you can honor the Lord with your wealth, then you can also dishonor the Lord with your wealth. Perhaps the reason you are experiencing financial hardship is due to the fact that your money is cursed. Yes, you read that correctly. The money that you earn and put in your bank account may be carrying with it a spiritual curse. This idea can sound strange, but the idea of blessing and cursing is found all over the bible. Malachi, chapter 3, tells us that the nation of the Israelites were under a curse because of the way they dishonored God with their finances. They were robbing what belonged to God, the first and the best of their increase, called the tithe, which simply means the first tenth. This principle of tithing is found all throughout scripture, from Genesis, chapter 4, all the way through the New Testament. Even Jesus, himself, confirmed the continuation of tithing in Matthew, chapter, 23.

The idea here is that the 90% left is blessed by God and therefore it will supernaturally go further than even 100% that is cursed. We've heard multiple stories over the years of people who have begun to tithe and somehow find that the 90% goes further than the previous 100% that they lived on before. They can't believe it, they can't explain it, but there is money left over at the end of every month.

Challenge:

Here is our challenge to you. Put God to the test. It is the only time in scripture when God tells us that we can test him. Begin to give the first 10% of your income to the local church you attend. Don't wait until you are out of your current financial hardship. Start to put God first even right now and watch what happens when you put God first! You’ll be amazed at how God will show up in your life when you choose to put him first.

Feel free to text us if you have any questions about how you can start to tithe.
