Biblical Community is what makes the church into family. Relationships are a foundational element of God's design for our growth and He wired us to be connected with and serve others. Crews are small groups to help you do life alongside other believers here at True North and find care and connection within the body. Serving on Team utilizes your gifts and time to impact people so they can know the hope and love we have in Christ. There is no doubt that we are better together.
The end of Growth Track is not really the end. It's the beginning of your journey here at True North and an opportunity to take a valuable next step in your walk with Jesus. And we love being able to serve, resource, and encourage you to in the direction God is calling you to move! That step could even be finally surrendering your life to God and letting us know so we can come alongside to celebrate and support that decision. Or perhaps you've know Jesus for a while, but a ready to go public with that commitment through baptism. Regardless, we all have a next step and a few of those steps are outlined below.
Why isn't Communion taken during Sunday Service?
We have a high view of Communion; it is an important Christian discipline that is an act of remembrance pointing toward the sacrifice of Jesus. We encourage receiving of Communion at Fight Nights, Team Nights, within Crews and even at home with family. The Bible instructs that Communion is for the believer (1 Corinthians 11:17-34). Because we have so many new people at service each week, we typically do not receive Communion in that environment, emphasizing an atmosphere where people can encounter Jesus for the first time and make a decision to follow Him.
How can Marriage Counseling be requested?
We believe God has a desire for every marriage to be strong, healthy and rooted in Him. Still, we know many couples experience bumps in the road or significant challenges that require more intensive supports. If you find yourself in that place, marriage mentoring could be a great next step for you.
What is the process of Baby Dedication?
True North Church practices baby dedication, which is different than infant baptism. Dedications are a time for parents to pledge their commitment to raise their child according to Christian values and beliefs. While a very meaningful moment, this is not a Christian baptism, according to the Bible.
Does True North have Mission Trips?
Not at this time. Our focus is impacting people locally by sharing the Gospel and being a light in our communities. We believe that crossing the street and sharing the love of Christ with a neighbor is just as significant as traveling across the world. Still, because God has blessed us abundantly, we partner with local and global outreach organizations that are committed to providing critical care and aid in the name of reaching people for Jesus. We have deep, healthy relationships with these entities and their leaders, who are able to bring sustained support while building lasting relationships on the ground. We do offer volunteer opportunities through Crews throughout the year and encourage you to serve God locally and globally as He calls you!
