Two Wisdoms. One Choice.
We face a powerful choice in our daily lives: will we operate in heavenly wisdom or human wisdom? This message takes us deep into the book of James to explore what true wisdom looks like and how we can access it. The story of Stephen from Acts 6 shows us someone who possessed a wisdom that his opponents could not stand against - not because of his intellect or experience, but because the Spirit gave him supernatural understanding. We learn that wisdom is not the same as knowledge or experience. It's the divine ability to apply what we know in a way that honors God. Heavenly wisdom starts with purity of heart, loves peace, is considerate and teachable, shows mercy with good fruit, and operates without hypocrisy. The contrast is stark: human wisdom is rooted in selfish ambition and pride, while heavenly wisdom flows from humility. The most encouraging truth is that God gives wisdom generously without finding fault - He doesn't look at our track record when we humbly ask. This means in our messiest moments, our biggest decisions, and our deepest struggles, we can cry out for wisdom and receive it. The practical question we can ask ourselves in every situation is simple but transformative: Can God bless this? This litmus test helps us navigate the countless doors and decisions we face daily, ensuring we're choosing paths that align with God's character and purposes for our lives.
