No Matter What
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
Before you were born or even formed in the womb, God already knew you and also set you apart and appointed you for a special purpose. Think about what that implies! It means that you have value and worth in God's eyes before you ever spoke or even breathed your first breath. It also means that your child had value and worth in God's eyes long before your first ultrasound appointment and even before the pregnancy test came back positive. God already knows every good or bad choice your child will ever make in their entire life and He still loves your child just the same.
It's difficult to explain the first time looking at your baby in the hospital room. You experience a depth of love you've never experienced before and didn't even know existed. But despite how much you love your child, God loves your child far more than you do. We, as humans, don't even have the capacity to love in the way or to the extent that God does. His love is pure and complete. It never fails and it never ends. This leads us to a very significant point to remember. There is a baby in your care that belongs to God and that He loves very much. That could be a terrifying thought. However, each of you needs to remember that God has already given you all you need to raise this child up, and He will not abandon you or leave you to take care of this prized possession on your own. God will be there with you, guiding, protecting, and supporting you no matter what.
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
