Present Yourselves

Sep 13, 2026    Ps. Jesse Eisenhart

For 120 years, three kings ruled Israel — Saul, David, and Solomon. It's one of the most dramatic stretches in Scripture: God's people asking for a human ruler, and God giving them exactly what they asked for. In this message, we trace that era to ask a question that's as relevant now as it was then: what happens when we trade trust in an unseen God for the comfort of something we can see and control? Starting in 1 Samuel, where Israel demands a king "like all the other nations," and closing with Jesus in Mark 10, we see God defining what real leadership looks like. Along the way, we wrestle with what it means to be transformed, not by trying harder, but by simply presenting ourselves to God and letting him do the work.
