What an exciting time for our church family! It’s a remarkable season of growth; every week we continue to see more people come out to service, make decisions for Jesus, and move further in their pursuit of Him. As God orchestrates this expansion of His Church, there is a present and palpable tension – a healthy stretch that requires flexibility, sacrifice, and increase as we proceed in obedience with God’s vision for this house.
As you’ve heard from our staff and team leads, we made the decision to add a fourth service, at 6PM, starting Sunday, March 19th. This fourth service will take aim at two significant challenges on which we are proactively focused: releasing pressure on current capacity issues at the 9AM and 11AM services and providing a worship experience for individuals and families regularly unable to attend in the morning.
We will launch the fourth service during an upcoming sermon series we have titled, “Empty Tomb.” The series is rooted in better understanding God’s gift of salvation, both what it is and what it isn’t. This theme encapsulates the greatest charge God has placed on True North, to reach people with the transforming power of the Gospel, and underscores the essentiality of our church family creating space and opportunity to invite others to experience a relationship with Jesus.
Now that you understand the heart and need for expanding our service opportunities, it is my hope that you will also realize how important each of you is in executing this new launch to impact. In being on team, you are already committed to serving God through this house and the unique areas you help cultivate and lead to usher individuals and families into life-altering encounters with Jesus. As we move ahead, I ask that you continue to embrace that commitment. It is vital you carry the heart, spirit, and vision God has imprinted on our church and replicate that in the specific places God has given you influence, both here at True North and beyond. What a privilege we have to be a part of what God is doing here!
I invite you to join me and the staff in praying over preparations for the new service launch. I also challenge you, the very same way I challenge myself, to continue leaning on God’s word and His promises in refining and deepening your capacity as a leader. I’m so very grateful and humbled to serve side by side with each of you and filled with joy at the prospect of what God has in store as we move faithfully forward.
